Dr. Jane Goodyer is the Dean of Lassonde School of Engineering at York University in Toronto, Canada, leading an inclusive community of engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs. Before joining Lassonde in 2018, she held leadership roles at Massey University in New Zealand, where she launched the country’s first Degree Apprenticeship pilot. Libby Osgood, PhD, PEng, is an aerospace engineer who worked as a Systems Engineer for 4 years on LDCM and GLAST spacecraft for NASA. She is now an associate professor in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) at the University of Prince Edward Island, teaching Dynamics and Design courses. She was recently named a 2024 3M National Teaching Fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada.
Aaron W. Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the Aerospace Engineering Department and a Core Faculty member of the Engineering Education Research Program at the University of Michigan. He believes in a strong connection between engineering education research and practice, and his research leverages his experience teaching engineering science courses to bridge the gap between theoretical, well-defined coursework and ill-defined, sociotechnical engineering practice.
Denise Thorsen received her B.S. (1985), M.S. (1991) and Ph.D. (1996) degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently a Professor and Department Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering & Associate Dean. She is also the director of the Alaska Space Grant and Alaska NASA EPSCoR programs.
Jess received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984, and a Ph.D. in Polymer Science from the University of Akron in 1994 with intervening stints in contract and corporate R&D. After graduating from the University of Akron, he spent the next 27 years working at the NASA-Johnson White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) in Las Cruces, New Mexico with a focus on testing and evaluation of aerospace componentry and materials.
