Tue. June 23, 2026 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Westin - Providence 1, Westin
Session Description

One of the many use cases of generative AI is in the research workflow: engineering education researchers now have access to AI tools that promise to aid with nearly every aspect of the research process from developing research questions to visualizing data. At the same time, these AI tools present many possible ethical considerations, including their environmental impact and use of intellectual property. Navigating the potential and pitfalls of AI tools is therefore not an easy task.

This panel discussion will focus on an overview of and the processes that led to the development of the Guid ... (continued)

Session Description

Artificial intelligence is everywhere. Engineers in all disciplines, whether or not they identify as computer scientists, are using computational and machine learning techniques to analyze data, develop new tools, and optimize systems. Faculty and researchers are grappling with what models are most applicable for their topics, if there are off-the-shelf AI tools they should be using for research tasks like literature review and data analysis, how to best advise students on AI use, and how to collect and structure data to train models for specific tasks.

How can the library help students and re ... (continued)
