Collaborative Strategies for Manufacturing Workforce Preparation Across Two-Year and Four-Year Colleges highlights effective partnership models that strengthen the manufacturing talent pipeline. Panelists will share examples of aligned curricula, stackable credentials, articulation/transfer pathways, and work-based learning collaborations that help students move smoothly from technician preparation to advanced manufacturing roles. The session will also discuss practical strategies for co-developing industry-informed competencies, integrating hands-on and digital-manufacturing skills, and using shared assessment and advising to improve recruitment, persistence, and career outcomes.

Best practices for teaching common courses in materials science both in and out of materials engineering departments and their impact on students beyond materials engineering majors.
Our historic Special Session of Hands-On Mechanics will continue as it has in the past.
Presenters will be asked to upload documentation of their demonstrations to the Division’s
Hands-On Mechanics website (http://www.handsonmechanics.org/). Proposals for
demonstrations should include a brief description of the classroom demonstration and how it
will be presented at the conference; these are not submitted as papers, but rather by direct
communication with the Division Program Chair by the Draft Paper deadline.
In today's world, where data are ubiquitous, practicing ethical data management is crucial especially in the era of AI and big data. Ensuring that data are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable is becoming increasingly important. We are a multi-disciplinary research team whose goal is to embed ethical data life cycle management education into undergraduate research programs in Engineering and Applied Sciences. In this interactive session, we will present the "Data Stewardship Framework," which we have developed to serve as a guide for mentoring faculty and graduate stude ... (continued)

The purpose of the new ASEE Transfer and Pathways Council (TPC) is to advance and support engineering education pathways, with particular focus on transfer and articulation between community/technical colleges and four-year institutions for professional careers in engineering. Transfer students make up a significant number of engineering graduates, so community college and technical colleges are critical actors and partners in student preparation. The TPC shall serve as a national forum for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and research on transfer and other pathways for engineering educatio ... (continued)

This 90-minute interactive workshop explores how engineering and computer science programs can better support students with dependents. Drawing on data from the California State University (CSU) and community college systems, the session reveals how institutional structures, from course modality options, housing, transport, childcare infrastructure, to transfer bottlenecks, often exclude students who also have caretaking responsibilities (e.g., mothers, fathers, caretakers more broadly construed). Participants will engage in reflection, case study analysis, and collaborative redesign to identify ... (continued)

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion starts with us, but individual awareness and action are not enough. In order to transform our institutions and organizations to be more diverse, equitable, and inclusive, we must understand the larger systems we construct, operate within, and sustain. In this session, we will introduce a systems-thinking framework through case study analysis to assist us in identifying organizational successes and opportunities for improvement as we become catalysts for institutional change. We aim to raise the collective awareness of institutional biases to promote shared accountability to create equitable engineering education communities at every organizational level.
