Session Description
This interactive workshop invites engineering faculty, administrators, and content creators to explore accessibility through the lens of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). As digital content becomes central to teaching, presenting, and stakeholder engagement, accessibility is not just a compliance issue—it’s a reflection of care, professionalism, and inclusive practice.
Participants will engage with practical strategies to make their digital materials more accessible, whether they are preparing a lecture, designing a research poster, leading a meeting, or submitting a proposal. The session will emphasize how accessibility can be embedded into everyday workflows and how new faculty can be oriented to these practices from the start.
Given the April 2026 digital accessibility deadline, this workshop isn’t designed to meet the deadline (it will have passed) but instead it will help attendees move beyond short-term fixes and toward sustainable, values-driven approaches to content creation. Participants will leave with actionable tools, examples, and a deeper understanding of how accessibility supports all learners and audiences.
