A role of higher education in the United States is to provide training that will be useful to the future managers’ and workers’ careers. One of the focal points in the technical realm is the increased use of cyber-physical systems or Industry 4.0. This leads to questions of when and how students should be introduced and taught about the technologies conducive to Industry 4.0’s success. This paper reports on the perceptions of industry partners regarding their usage of emerging technologies into their workplace and into the workforce through the use of a survey. The goal of the project is to determine which of the emerging technologies are more prolific in industry and need to be trained on in the university classroom. The expected outcome is to have a ranked list of technologies that need to be included in the curriculum to be taught to university students.
The full paper will be available to logged in and registered conference attendees once the conference starts on June 22, 2025, and to all visitors after the conference ends on June 25, 2025
