Technological changes have a growing influence on the information-processing habits of individuals and activities of daily life. As communication and information devices change to provide richer content, new media presentation formats occur regardless of place and time. Infographics offer a more comprehensive instance of such structures, and their popularity is elevated because of their capacity to share information effectively and their visual appeal.
Cognitive tools are also promising by infographics; however, in educational practices, their applications are limited and there is not much study about it. The goal of this study is to persuade teachers and instructional designers to utilize infographics more frequently as teaching aids.
The purpose of the study is to spread knowledge of the advantages that instructional infographics offer. Initially, the paper's focus is a brief introduction to visual literacy, followed by learning and teaching activities, and finally, the infographic and their capacities summarized. During the preparation of this paper, the author's experiences, and suggestions for alternative ways to offer training using infographics for schools and institutions of teacher education are presented.
